At the end of 2009 ZDFneo wanted to put more first-person documentaries on German TV and asked if VICE would have a go. The result were six half-hours about the stranger sides of German society, bravely hosted by Manuel Möglich.
The show was commissioned for a total of four seasons spanning twenty four individual episodes.
I developed and co-wrote the show, supervised the edit and directed the first six episodes.
In 2011 Wild Germany was nominated for the Deutschen Fernsehpreis.
In 2016 a selection of twelve episodes from across all four seasons was licensed by Netflix.
